-- A show with no real genre
You probably spent your summer wishfully thinking "If only there was an awesome weekly music show that I could listen to? Maybe one that had a themed playlist for each week? Is that too much to ask?"
Well, you're in luck! Dynamix is an… ever-changing (
weather ingenuity permitting) music show with some awesome tunes.
When is Dynamix?
Where is Dynamix?

sorry about the delay in blog updates, it's been a very busy few weeks! I almost didn't make this one but needed to tell you that this week's show starts approx. 30 mins late (fell asleep after doing coursework all night). Today's theme was D.A.N.C.E :) and started of with a remix by Mstrkrft!
Carl, my co-host-extrodinaire was busy at uni this week, so you have the privilege/misfortune of only listening to me today! I didn't even have time to find the customary soundbite to act as a placeholder :(
Anyhow, I'm not sure about next week's show yet, the ideas are still in the pipeline! If you have any suggestions, feel free to e-mail in at email@example.com as always!
Until next time...

It's Been a While. . .
so Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Since the last blog update we've had a Christmas show, a 2010 recap show and most recently a 'Blue' show.
We also had a jam piece by a band called
Every song in the last show contained 'Blue' in either the title or artist name.
We had a two blue eyes, a blue sky, breakfast and a hangover to end.
I also played a jam track by a band called Les Bleus Tournesols
In today's show I also discuss European swage policies and we also have a surprise visit from Ramy, presenter of Propaganda Show, who was more than happy to talk about Blue! And you also hear about my trip to see a concert by the Robbie Boyd Band and The Escapists.
Chill Time :)

So Sunday's show was the 'chill playlist' show, one that've I've had waiting in the wings for a while, ever since bar duty in More House! Made some last minute changes to half the playlist, and a good portion of it was arranged on-the-go, so I hope it was well received by you, the public!
Today's playlist started of with a lovely 'chilled' track by Koop, followed by 'Hard to Concentrate by RHCP. We also saw a cover of Electric Feel by Katy Perry and a classic song by the Zutons. While the show was playing, I had wild fun making pate sandwiches with a spare plectrum I found, which unfortunately ended up being dinner!
Sunday's show was a good 90 minute session, and as always, don't forget you can look at each show's playlist by clicking on the required episode at the bottom of the page!
Next week, if I'm still local, there will be a special Christmas edition of Dynamix, with festive tunes a-plenty. Tune in at our usual time of 1200-1300 at Friday lunchtime!
1hr 45mins of Acoustic Bliss

Had a good show today, apart form the start. I'm afraid to say that because the last person in the studio decided to go for a walk between 1700-1713 before handing the keys back to security, the first 15 minutes should be skipped :(
Even though the show was billed for two hours, that meant I couldn't play a few more amazing tracks.
Anyhow, we had a good show, with two brilliant requests, one from Rory (Times Like These - Foo Fighters) and another from Tim (Flash - Queen) which admittedly wasn't terribly acoustic.
Today's show also featured two tracks recorded at the IC Radio Recording Studio, by 'Sparrow and the Workshop' and 'Blabbermouth'. We also had some lesser known songs, including Mango Tree - Angus & Julia Stone and Screaming Infidelities - Dashboard Confessional.
Looking ahead to next week, I think since it'll be the end of term, we'll be looking forward to a 'Chill Playlist', a playlist of songs to relax to! If you've got any suggestions, do e-mail the address written on the intro section of the page, and do let me know if you'd like another 2-hr extravaganza!
Until next time!

So, update! The next episode of Dynamix will be on Sunday 12th December from 1700-1900! Yeah, that's right, two hours of acoustic goodness! So tune in and relax :)

Sooooo! Comedy songs are go!
Had an unusual array of comedy songs this week. It was a hard playlist to compile, especially with the the large number of swearwords in most of them. We had tracks from the Lonely Island, Chris Moyles and the infamous Star Wars Gangsta Rap, along with many other recognisable songs. Also played an excerpt from the Now Show on BBC Radio 4, a rap sung by Doc Brown, the 'Street Chancellor' which was played after out the icon request by James Higgins that was 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'.
In regards to next week, I've got my 36hr reinforced concrete design project, so there probably won't be a show on Friday, but if I can get things shifted around we might see a show on the weekend. The next playlist is 'Acoustic', so listen in and enjoy!
Finally, two links to be seen. One is the [link] 'Harry Potter Rap Battle'
, and the other is an alternative trailer for the last Harry Potter film ([link] Harry Potter Trailer
), so hopefully those two will keep you entertained in the week to come.
P.S. Apologies for the poor hosting, feeling a bit under the weather :(
Singles and 60's

Joe's been a naughty boy!
Apologies for not getting round to updating the show blog for last week. Last week was a good show, possibly my favourite so far! We had a few popular 'tunez' that spiced up what would otherwise have been completely new music for most people.
We also had a request from Nick Carmichael - MGMT's Time To Pretend which apparently was seen by the iTunes music team before the rest of us were introduced to the unusal Brokly-based band.
This week, more playlist fun with 'Bob, The Who and the 60's'! Had a surprise guest appearance from the legend who has been part of the heart of IC radio for a good few years, Chris Birkett. And one of our live listeners Carl has promised to write an arrangement of Elenor Rigby. We also learned that Rory liked hearing Mrs. (Iris) Robinson being played over the airwaves.
Next week's playlist will be Comedy Songs. I'm can;t give you any hints yet because I haven't started making it yet. Stay tuned!

Ok, so second episode went fairly well! Apologies for the quieter song, had a small technical hitch on the desk. We had a playlist of awesomeness the week, with songs from adverts!
Had some great songs, although no-one e-mailed in the correct answers, so the Mars bar goes to me! :) Happy days.
Coming up in the week ahead, we've got an hour of songs selected from three years of weekly recommended songs by the iTunes Store! That's right it's 'iTunes Single of the Week' week :)
I've got a small dilemma, do I include well known hits in the playlist as well, or would that be too mainstream? If you want a say, email in the the address above!
Deseo tus emails ;)
As for next week, I think it's time for a little hero worship, so the next show is called 'Bob, the Who and the Sixties'. Be there or be square!

And the first episode of Dynamix kicks off, 405 years after Guy Fawkes was caught playing with sparklers in Westminster. How significant is that?
Unfortunately, I spent the first 10 minutes of the show frantically trying to get someone to unlock the studio for me, and then the following two minutes were spent setting up, so feel free to skip to 12m15s -ish.
Today's theme was cover songs, from the likes of Asher Roth (who incidentally 'loves college'), Nataly Dawn and Mark Ronson. I've got 74 hand-picked cover songs (and counting) left to choose from, so I might two two more cover shows over the next two terms!
Anyway, looking forward to next week, we've got 'Music from the Adverts', so dust off your iPod commercials and don't forget to visit the people who 'love electricals'! Also, stay tuned for any upcoming competitions, including the chance to win a mars bar! :)
Don't forget if you would like to e-mail in suggestions or just want your name to be said, e-mail in to the address above/below!
Until next time, have a bright bonfire night!
