Quick Scheduling Update

Posted Saturday 11 June 2011 by Saphira

Bummer - last two weeks have held scheduling changes for evening classes, and was unable to get the showtime moved in the system :( Next week-and-a-half are exams. So wish me luck - and look forward to the next show which will NOT be getting changed. Because exams will be over :D

It's set and it's Friday, June 24th! Some awesome guests are scheduled to call in - will announce very soon!

Thanks so much for tuning in to the new interview season, keep passing those links around :)

And a MASSIVE shout-out and thanks to awesome indie bands Evokateur and Low Tide Theory for coming on the show. Was so much fun! If you haven't already, check them out, their sites are listed in some blog posts below.

Posted Monday 16 May 2011 by Saphira

Thanks so much for tuning into our first-ever interview, and to Evokateur for being such good sports while we got the call-in system's kinks worked out. Was tons of fun, had lots of laughs during our chat, and look forward to doing it again!

The show schedule till July is:

May 27th
June 3rd
June 10th
June 24th

A couple of bands are tentatively booked, will post details and dates as soon as they're confirmed!

If you're interested in getting interviewed on the show and are a band, charity or some kind of performing artist, get in touch ASAP!

Back this Friday - with Evokateur

Be sure to tune in this Friday, May 13th! Coming back with a bang, we're having our first call-in interview with amazing indie group Evokateur.

Spread the word about this momentus event ;) & don't worry, there will be music, too, not just talk!

On A Roll

Posted Thursday 10 February 2011 by Saphira

Thanks everyone listening in! Live stats have bumped up and older replays are doing really well, too! Going to be starting a promo campaign around campus soon to see if we can get even more of the uninitiated to join in.

Exciting news - I finally sent out requests for call-in guests for the show and it looks like we're going to be having a couple of indie bands! :) More details forthcoming as soon as we get everything arranged.

I also contacted some potential guests to talk a little about green issues (don't worry, not planning to overwhelm the show with this, still mostly music planned). If this comes through we could also get a cool little green debate going!

Huge thanks to everyone who's been tuning in from afar and promoting Ideasyncratic on twitter/blogs! This is unbelievably cool, most importantly because I'm passionate about getting indie artists more visibility through the show, and about slotting in some fun chat about green/world issues people may not know about. So thanks again, and keep tweeting about us!

Schedule update for Spring:

Shows running weekly Fridays 4-5pm GMT through March 4th.

Spring Exams hiatus weeks of March 11th, 18th.

Back week of March 25th.

Cheers & don't forget to tune in every Friday!

Not Really A Techie

Posted Friday 28 January 2011 by Saphira

So last week we had the worst technical trouble of the year, couldn't get the mike working for about 1/2 the show. Thanks for humouring us, and somehow miraculously getting the highest online listenership so far this year!

Will be re-playing some of the artists song today that didn't get introduced properly as result of the difficulty. Gotta do them justice!

Working on call-in guest line-up for Spring (yay working now!). If you're an artist and want to call in, shoot me an email & sample of your songs. Guys who I've contacted re: this already, been a bit busy, but will get back to you guys with details asap :D

Y2K, 2010 Edition

Posted Sunday 16 January 2011 by Saphira

Thanks for tuning in to our 3rd episode. SO excited to be back, finally, and psyched to keep Ideasyncratic as a weekly thing with the much nicer schedule this term!

Of course, being the first day back, Murphy's Law dictates there was an entire system outage as we turned up after class. And our tech wizards had January exam week. We finally figured out the analogue broadcast was still on with no indicators whatsover, & did the show ;P

So, the show starts at 9:40 on the autorecord!

Joke at the station was it's Y2K come a decade late on our millenium-era equipment!

Will also be trying out new volume settings, seems the playback is a little soft even though the station output was at recommended levels. Will try higher and try not to blow everyone's ears off. Thanks for your patience!

Link to the playlist from the hilarious Black Book Mag article we mentioned is the blog entry below. Turns out link posting isn't working so we didn't really need two blog entries. Typical.

But, exciting news for the rest of term. We've booked a tech hour next week to get call-in interviews working. And a cool band is willing to interview! Won't give too many details away until we've got the tech working for sure.

So, if all plans go as laid, Ideasyncratic should be getting a lot cooler, with interviews starting 2 weeks from now!

See you this Friday. 1600.

Grrr - Links posting not working.

Sorry guys, links posting not working, you'll have to copy & paste this.

We shall return

Posted Friday 26 November 2010 by Saphira

Afraid our temporary hiatus continues this week and next due to job interviews (wish us luck!). Promise we shall return bigger and better than ever, hopefully with wicked promo pics onsite.

Back next Friday

Posted Thursday 18 November 2010 by Saphira

Sorry guys - this week we're having a brief hiatus due to landlord hijinks. Look forward to being back on the air next week!

First Shows

Posted Thursday 18 November 2010 by Saphira

Thanks everyone for all of the great support - we had practically a record for 11 live listeners on our first show! (Normally new shows have something like 2).

Hope to get the promo photos for the site up soon, and the playlists working ASAP (not sure why they aren't showing up at the moment).

Keep listening! Look forward to joining you on our next show.
